Illustrative refrigeration scene

The equipment delivery is only one part of a refrigeration replacement. An operating business also needs a plan for its product, staff, access routes and the point at which the replacement can enter service. Discuss these items before committing to a changeover date.

Start with what must keep operating

Identify the affected case, room or system and any connected equipment. Explain which areas the business needs to use during the work. A shared refrigeration system may create dependencies that are not obvious from the cabinet being replaced, so the existing arrangement needs review.

Assign the product and access arrangements

The site team should identify who will relocate stock, prepare temporary storage where needed and decide when product can return under the business’s procedures. Agree how customers, deliveries and staff will move around the work area.

  • Check delivery doors, corners, lifts and the route to the final position.
  • Identify who clears the work area and provides keys or access.
  • Plan removal and handling of the old equipment.
  • Confirm any restrictions on delivery hours, noise or shutdowns.

Confirm the work between removal and startup

Electrical, drainage, floor or building work may need to happen before refrigeration installation can proceed. The proposal should identify the included work, other-trade responsibilities and the conditions that must be ready. Review outstanding site information while there is still time to resolve it.

Leave room for checks and handover

Delivery, installation, startup and release for use are different steps. Agree the checks and handover information required for the equipment, along with who will make operating decisions at the site. Do not assume that a delivery time is the time product can be loaded.

Make the sequence understandable

A useful changeover plan names the site contact, the work sequence, the responsibilities and the items still awaiting confirmation. Staging may be possible, but uninterrupted operation should not be assumed. ADN can discuss the refrigeration scope and coordinate the proposed sequence with your project team.
